Marshall Inducted into 2015 CYO Hall of Fame
DECEMBER 5, Stow, Ohio -- Our very own Paul Marshall is a 2015 inductee into the Diocese of Cleveland Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Hall of Fame. Those enshrined into the CYO Hall of Fame have made significant contributions to the CYO as a player, coach, pastoral designee, clergy, commissioner, or other member of the community whose accomplishments have been of utmost merit and whose actions have brought life to the Mission of the Diocese of Cleveland CYO for an extended period of time.
Paul and his wife, Dr. Michele Marshall, have been active members of Holy Family Parish – giving of their time, talent and treasurer - for nearly 25 years, and they have four children who attended Holy Family School.
Paul has been involved in CYO and Holy Family Athletics for nearly 22 years. He served as softball coordinator and head coach for eight years. His teams were able to achieve three undefeated seasons and win four CYO titles. Paul also mentored and maintained the beginning basketball program for Holy Family first and second graders for four years and served as boys head basketball coach for an additional four years.
In 1997, Paul was appointed Parish Athletic Director / Pastoral Designee. He served in that capacity until 2012. An avid supporter of the CYO mission, Paul expressly promoted the philosophy "participation is the name of the game." He wanted to ensure all children were given the opportunity to play and be a part of a team. In addition to CYO Athletics, Paul has been an avid supporter of the Partners in Giving Campaign and serves on various committees for athletics.
Paul has led several projects at Holy Family for both the parish and school. In recent times, he has facilitated projects including new school windows, modernization to the school HVAC Systems, exterior brick renovation, new school and gym floors as well as a new science lab. Paul's biggest accomplishment at the parish was his mission and devotion to construct the new addition and chapel building as well as coordinate and oversee the current church renovation work.
Other 2015 inductees include Joe Jurevicius–St. Justin Martyr; Oliver Luck–Gesu; Mare Von Lindern–St. Mary, Chardon; Frank Lewandowski–St. Mary of the Assumption; Jim Burdon–St. Vincent, Akron; and Jim Hurley–Christ the King, Akron.
