Coaching Information
Interested in becoming a coach?
To become a coach for any Holy Family team, you must complete the following PRIOR to any involvement with the players:
1. Virtus Training (available through Holy Family Parish or other locations in the Diocese)
2. Background Check (at the Holy Family rectory)
3. Coaches Development Program (at CYO)
4. Online Concussion Training Program (see below)
Items # 1-3 only need to be completed ONCE in your CYO coaching career; however, you must receive an updated sticker from CYO for your coaches' card with each sport. Stickers can be obtained at the CYO Coaches' Meeting prior to the start of each sport. Concussion Training Program (#4) must be completed once every three years.
Online Concussion Training Program:
If you are planning on coaching next year, you need to complete one of the two courses on head injuries and concussions. At the end of the course, you will print out a certificate. Please save the certificate to show proof of course completion. Click here to begin online training.

Akron's Sports Medicine Concussion Specialists
ALL concussions are serious and should not be taken lightly. NO athlete can return to play while still experiencing signs of a concussion!
The physicians will coordinate your care with your Primary Care Physician, athletic trainer, coaches, teachers/counselors and other healthcare professionals involved in your care and safety.
April 26, 2013, Ohio’s Return to Play Law went into effect for Middle School, High School and Youth Sports. ALL athletes exhibiting signs, symptoms or behaviors of a concussion MUST be removed from play, cannot return that day and will need a written release to return to play.
